Meet Jen from Bernie's Bloody Mary
Jen joined MNFood.Club immediately after finding out about its mission and has been a vocal advocate for it since by spreading the word to customers who aren't always able to meet in person to purchase Bernie's products. "The idea for Bernie's sparked about 5 years ago during cabin gatherings, where bloody Mary's were a staple among friends and family. Driven to create my own unique mix, I embarked on a journey of many taste tests and rigorous licensing. With all in place, Bernie's launched and I started sharing the mixes at local farmers markets and vendor events around town."
"To enjoy the mixes at their peak, be sure to refrigerate them before use. They're crafted to be exceptionally flavorful on their own, so feel free to skip the alcohol."
"Growing up with my father owning a small business definitely provided a unique perspective. It instilled firsthand of how vital it is to invest with our local farmers, makers & local businesses. "Bernie's is named after my 92 year old grandmother. Her recent retirement from The Garrison VFW a few weeks ago. (Yes, at the age of 92) is inspiring. She's a huge role model, empowering strength, hard work and the wisdom to prioritize family and friends and to enjoy life's little things. "Don't burn the candle at both ends", she would tell you. I have this business for that reason. Turning 50 this year really puts things into perspective. I love what I do. I love the people, conversations & connection I have. If that goes away, then there's no more need for Bernie's. Cheers friends!"
Another fun fact about these mixes that this author has just discovered is that they aren't just for drinking- you can use them for cooking too! In this photo, Jen demonstrates how she uses the Smokey Jalapeno mix for a chili recipe that looks absolutely amazing!
